Welcome to the Oceania Chondrichthyan Society's (OCS) online store. The OCS is a not for profit scientific organisation that was founded to further the scientific study, conservation of and education about chondrichthyan fishes - the sharks, rays, skates and chimeras.

Sharks and rays around the world are under increasing pressure. Up to 100 million sharks and rays are removed from the world's oceans every year (that's three sharks per second). There are documented cases of collapsing shark populations and more and more sharks and rays are being listed as endangered species. However, very little is known about sharks and rays, and more information is urgently needed to suppport their conservation, to inform management and achieve sustainable use. The OCS is working to help scientists, managers, conservation and industry groups share information and exchange ideas, facilitate research and educate the public about the conservation, management and ecologically sustainable use of sharks and rays.
